The CAT is administered and conducted every year by one of the IIMs based on their policy of rotation. CAT 2022 is expected to be in the Last week of November or the first week of December of 2022. The registration for the same will commence from the first week of August 2022 and will be continued till the end of September 2022. The examination officials will release a notification of all the dates in the last week of July 2022. The registration and application process of CAT 2022 will be completely online on the official website. CAT registration is a three-step process including online registration, filling up the CAT application form, and fee payment.
CAT Online Registration
The initial step to apply for CAT 2022 is registering on the official website. Following steps must be followed by the candidate:
- The candidate must open the official CAT website – iimcat.ac.in
- Then click on the “New Candidate Registration“
- The candidate is further required to fill in the details like Name, date of birth, email ID, mobile phone number, and nationality
- The next step is clicking on “Generate OTP“
- Once, the registration is successful, the candidate will receive an OTP on their registered mobile number and has to enter this OTP to verify their CAT registration.
Filling up CAT application form
After verification, a user ID and password will be sent on the candidate’s registered email ID and mobile number. The candidate will have to log in again with the user id and password to fill the form. The CAT application form consists of:
- Personal Details
- Academic details
- Work experience
- Programs
- Test cities
- Payment
There will be a list of 156 cities and the candidate will have to select a test city by selecting up to 6 options from that list. However, the allotment will depend upon the availability of seats.
Documents required for CAT Registration
- Class 10 mark sheet
- Class 12 mark sheet
- Graduation mark sheets/certificate
- Date of Birth certificate
- Address proof
- Caste category certificate (if applicable)
- PwD category certificate (if applicable)
- Scribe certificate (if applicable)
- Credit/debit card or net banking credentials (for payment)
Along with this, the documents that the candidate is required to upload are Scanned Passport Size Photograph and a Scanned Signature
Fee Structure of CAT 2022
The last step is the payment of the application fee for CAT 2022. After filling up details in the first five sections, the candidate should click on ‘save and continue’ to proceed to the fee payment window. The application fee for General as well as reserved category students is General and NC-OBC: Rs. 1900 SC, ST, and PwD: Rs. 950
